Problem with your survey? No problem!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Dec 04, 2020 at 06:14:35 PM

So we've had a few of you reach out with some snags. No worries! Just let us know if the survey treats you like a rag doll. It's easy enough for us to fix. It was very VERY hard to get all the logic to work with all the different pieces, their weights, the add-ons, and international considerations. But we have the power to get you fixed up. So don't panic, just drop us a note and we'll respond as quick as we can.

In the meantime, to help you stay calm, here is a picture of some kind of animal wrapped in some kind of bread product. I feel like I should know what this is, but I just can't put my finger on it...

BackerKit is Launching! -- A Note about the Tome of Holding -- A Note about freight
over 3 years ago – Fri, Dec 04, 2020 at 05:32:38 PM

Hello everybody!

By the time you read this I will be launching the "Smoke Test" in BackerKit. This is a mandatory step where 5% of you will receive your surveys. This allows us to make sure it's working properly and if it is, the rest of you will get your surveys shortly after. Fill those out as quick as you can please! We need to make sure we have enough of everything. Which brings me to my next point:

Christmas Question

There is a question on the survey that asks you whether or not you purchased this KS as a gift and therefore need your pledge by Christmas. If that's true PLEASE let us know so we can prioritize your order. And if you don't need it quickly, please tell us that too. It will help us prioritize presents, and it will help us react to demand. For example, if I didn't buy enough blue binders for the Tome of Holding, I'd like to get blue binders out to those that need them for presents, while I source more binders. This is just an example, but I'm sure you understand. Now speaking of binders...

Tome of Holding

If you bought this item I want to remind you now that the binders do not exactly match the colors of the screens. Binder colors are just a shade different and still look great when paired with their complementary screen. That is, a purple binder looks great with a purple screen and so on. However, as there is no such thing as a gold binder, we've substituted yellow in case you want that. Keep in mind that you can order any color binder you want to match your screen (or not match it). So if you buy a gold screen you may want to trick it out with a gray binder, or a blue one, or even a green one to complement it. But we're not going to judge you if you pair it with an orange binder. We'll triple check the packing slip, but we will NOT judge you. :)

A Note on Freight

There are a few of you that ordered on a certain tier then added more money for pledges that would drive you to a higher freight rate. Unfortunately there was no way for Kickstarter to catch this. So if I reach out to you and say you owe a bit for freight, I apologize. Even with BackerKit we have to do just a bit of stuff manually and I don't want you to be surprised when I approach you.

OK that's it for now. Thank you everybody!

The End is Night // Snow Queen Earned
over 3 years ago – Thu, Nov 26, 2020 at 07:56:21 PM

Hello Everybody! We are just over 1 hour away from wrapping this "Quickstarter." Thanks for helping us blow our goals away. And congrats on earning the Insert Encounter: The Snow Queen!

There's one last stretch goal to earn, "The Pan!" I'm sure you recognize this spritely trickster, who comes around at midwinter to remind us what a magical time it it.

I'm not sure you'll earn him during the KS campaign, but hopefully enough folks will come in with pledges in BackerKit to finish the job. Either way, you did a great job maximizing your haul on this KS. Congrats!

And thanks again!

Another Stretch Goal Falls! - A Note about shipping
over 3 years ago – Wed, Nov 25, 2020 at 07:32:21 PM

Hello folks!

Thank you so much for supporting this Kickstarter. This was a long time coming for me, as I'd planned these inserts over 10 years ago when The World's Greatest Screen first debuted. It's been a long road but I can't wait to share these tools with you! BTW you are doing a great job of keeping me busy, forcing me to make new FREE inserts for you! You just earned Krampus and now it's time for the next season-themed character to maker her appearance. I hope you are all ready to Encounter: The Snow Queen.

A Note About Shipping

Folks we've decided to go ahead and use BackerKit for the pledge management. It will be available shortly after the campaign ends and you will use it to select things like your screen orientation and color, as well as your Art Pack(s), extra screens, and so on.

One thing I've been trying to keep an eye on is the screen counts to make sure I have enough for everybody to ship quickly. I had to order screens in advance and did a best guess at what the needs would be. As long as you don't all order black in the same orientation, we'll be fine. :) But if it comes down to it, I may ask some of you if you want to wait for your particular color, or choose an alternative. This mostly effects anyone that has ordered in the last 24 hours or so.

Hopefully it will all be a non-issue but I wanted to put it out there in case I have to pivot a bit. Overselling was my only true concern on this KS and I won't know if that happened until you all make your choices. So when BackerKit becomes available, please do fill out your information quickly so I can see where we are at.

That's it for now. Thanks again for your support everybody. I hope some of you will share images of your tricked-out screen once you finish customizing it!

And for those of you in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving.

All my best,

Danny

Stretch Goal #5 has Fallen!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Nov 21, 2020 at 03:05:49 PM

Congratulations folks! You've just conquered our last planned stretch goal. This isn't the kind of Kickstarter that was meant to taunt you with endless add-ons so that you would spend more money. That said...I'm here to taunt you with an add-on!

Our next goal is set at $10K. And like before, it's going to be a FREE ENCOUNTER INSERT for all those that bought a pack of inserts. Except this time it's not going to be some lame iconic fantasy monster. No no no. It's not going to be some cliche dragon or run-of-the-mill demon. Nope, instead we are going with the ultimate trickster.

We're gonna give you Santa.

That's right! Just in time for the holidays, this winter trickster is ready to fight alongside you - or with you - and heck, he just might give you some presents while you're at it!

:)

Introducing: Santa Claus

We truly hope you enjoy the magical wonder of having Santa Claus appear in your game. We know that not everybody celebrates this holiday, but Santa has been a classic fantasy trope for hundreds of years - or at least since CS Lewis dropped him into The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. So we thought it would be fun to translate him to the tabletop for you. Have fun with him! Just don't get on Mrs. Claus' bad side. She's got the power to put you in your place!

Final Days

As you are aware, we are now in the final days of this "Quickstarter." Now is the time we would ask you to share this project anywhere you can. Tell all your friends. Burden your family. Put out a billboard on your local interstate. Staple advertisements to wandering chickens (OK maybe not that last one). TELL THE WORLD! We will almost certainly hit the $10K mark but please don't think Santa is the last ace up my sleeve. Let's spread the word and see if we can get you even MORE free inserts!

OK enough of that. I'm sure you get the point. We'd appreciate all the help you can give us.

Thanks so much.
